According to part 2 of article 20 of the Federal Constitutional Law of 31. 12. 1996 No. 1-FKZ “On the Judicial System of the Russian Federation” and part 1 of Art. 24 of the Federal Constitutional Law of 7. 02. 2011 No. 1-FKZ “On Courts of General Jurisdiction in the Russian Federation”, the court of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug is a federal court of general jurisdiction, operating within the territory of the corresponding subject of the Russian Federation, and directly superior to the court in relation to district courts operating in the territory of the relevant constituent entity of the Russian Federation.

In accordance with Part 1 of Art. 20 of the Federal Constitutional Law of 31. 12. 1996 No. 1-FKZ “On the Judicial System of the Russian Federation” and part 1 of Art. 25 of the Federal Constitutional Law of 07. 02. 2011 No. 1-FKZ “On Courts of General Jurisdiction in the Russian Federation”, the court of the Chukotka Autonomous Region, within its competence, in accordance with the jurisdiction established by federal laws, considers cases as a court of first and second (appeal) instance , in the order of supervision (cassation instance), due to new or newly discovered circumstances, and also exercises other powers in accordance with federal laws

There is no personal reception of citizens by the chairman, vice-chairmen and judges of the court of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, since in accordance with the Federal Constitutional Act of February 7, 2011 No. 1-FKZ “On Courts of General Jurisdiction in the Russian Federation”, the reception of citizens is assigned to the functions of the court apparatus (Clause 12, Part 1, Article 39).
