Notifying the participants of the trial about the date, time and place of the court session by means of SMS messages

The Ileksky District Court of the Orenburg Region uses SMS messages as additional means of communication to notify participants in civil, administrative and criminal proceedings about the place, date and time of the consideration of the case in court or the performance of certain procedural actions.
The Orenburg Regional Court, together with the Office of the Judicial Department at the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation in the Orenburg Region, developed a procedure for organizing notification of the participants in the trial about the dates of the court session via SMS messages. The use of this method of notification is fully consistent with the norms of the Civil Procedure Law. A prerequisite for the application of this procedure is the voluntary consent of the participant in the process to its application. To do this, the plaintiff, when filing a statement of claim in court, and the defendant and other persons, at the first appearance in court, will be offered this method of notification by filling in the corresponding receipt.
