The Yakutsk City Court of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), within its competence, considers criminal, civil cases, materials on administrative offenses as a court of first and second instance, as well as materials at the request of convicts serving sentences in correctional colonies, is a directly higher court in relation to magistrates acting in the territory of the respective city districts.

The personal reception of citizens is conducted by the chairman of the court and deputy chairman of the Yakutsk city court of the RS (Y) on organizational issues of the court, requiring direct intervention by the leadership of the Yakutsk city court of the RS (Y).
