The powers of the court
The powers of the district court are determined by Article 21 of the Federal Constitutional Law of the Russian Federation No. 1-FKZ of December 31, 1996 of the year “On the judicial system of the Russian Federation” (as amended on 05. 02. 2014).
1. The district court, within its competence, considers criminal, civil, administrative violation materials as a court of first and second instance, as well as materials at the request of convicts serving sentences in correctional colonies located on the territory of the municipal district.
2. The district court is the directly superior court in relation to the justices of the peace operating in the territory of the respective judicial region.
