Jurisdiction of the Rostov-on-Don Garrison Military Court
In accordance with the Federal Law of the Russian Federation of December 29, 2020 No. 466-FZ the jurisdiction of the Rostov-on-Don garrison military court extends to the territory where military garrisons, troops, military formations and bodies are located, in which military service is provided for by federal law, deployed in the territories of the Rostov region (except for cities and districts classified under the jurisdiction of the Novocherkassk garrison military court), the city of Elista, Iki-Burulsky and Tselinny districts of the Republic of Kalmykia.
On the specified territory military units and institutions of the Southern Military District, the Southern District of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, the Frontier Directorate of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Rostov Region, part 4 of the Air Force and Air Defense Command, as well as other troops, military formations and bodies in which the federal military service is provided for by law.

Southern District Military Court
The Southern District Military Court, being a court of the second tier, exercises judicial power on a territorial basis in 15 (previously 13) constituent entities of the Russian Federation of the Southern and North Caucasian federal districts, as well as on the territory of the Republics of Armenia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia at the location of military units and institutions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, other troops, military formations and bodies.
The Southern District Military Court has jurisdiction over 18 garrison military courts that hear cases of military personnel of the Southern Military District, the North Caucasian District of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, the regional (in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation) Border Directorates of the Federal Security Service of Russia, the Southern and North Caucasian Regional centers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla.
